Interposed Nucleus
One of the deep cerebellar nuclei, consisting of the globose and emboliform nuclei, involved in the coordination of ongoing movements and correcting motor errors.
Key Functions:
- Coordinates ongoing movements.
- Detects and corrects motor errors during movement.
- Receives input from the intermediate zone of the cerebellar cortex.
- Projects to the red nucleus and thalamus.
