Dentate Nucleus

The largest and most lateral of the deep cerebellar nuclei, involved in planning and initiating voluntary movements, particularly complex, multi-joint movements, and cognitive functions.

Key Functions:

• Plays a key role in the planning and initiation of voluntary movements.
• Involved in fine motor control and learning of complex motor skills.
• Contributes to cognitive functions such as working memory and language.
• Receives input from the lateral cerebellar cortex and projects to the thalamus.
