Secondary Spermatocyte
Haploid germ cells that result from the completion of meiosis I by a primary spermatocyte, which then rapidly undergoes meiosis II to produce two haploid spermatids.
Key Functions:
- Undergoes meiosis II, producing two spermatids.
- Short-lived and rapidly proceeds to the next stage of spermatogenesis.
- Contains 23 chromosomes, each with two chromatids.
Interacting Systems & Components:
- Primary Spermatocyte (develops from)
- Spermatid (produces)
- Meiosis (undergoes)
- Testis (located in)
- Reproductive System (part of)
