Leydig Cell

Endocrine cells located in the interstitial tissue between the seminiferous tubules of the testis, primarily responsible for synthesizing and secreting testosterone and other androgens.

Key Functions:

• Produces and secretes testosterone.
• Essential for male sexual development, secondary sexual characteristics, and spermatogenesis.
• Stimulated by luteinizing hormone (LH) from the anterior pituitary.
