Primary Spermatocyte
Diploid germ cells in the testis that undergo meiosis I to produce two haploid secondary spermatocytes.
Key Functions:
- Undergoes meiosis I, reducing the chromosome number by half.
- Generates genetic diversity through crossing over.
- Precursor to secondary spermatocytes in spermatogenesis.
