Third Ventricle

A thin, median cavity of the brain, located between the two halves of the thalamus, forming part of the ventricular system that produces and circulates cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Key Functions:

• Produces cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) via the choroid plexus.
• Connects the lateral ventricles to the fourth ventricle.
• Serves as a conduit for CSF circulation.
