T Helper 1 Cell (Th1 Cell)
A subset of helper T-lymphocytes that primarily mediates cellular immunity against intracellular pathogens by activating macrophages and cytotoxic T cells.
Key Functions:
- Produces pro-inflammatory cytokines (e.g., IFN-$\\gamma$, IL-2).
- Activates macrophages to kill intracellular pathogens.
- Promotes the differentiation of cytotoxic T-lymphocytes.
Interacting Systems & Components:
- Helper T-Lymphocyte (subset of)
- Immune System (key regulator)
- Cytokine (produces)
- Macrophage (activates)
- Cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (promotes differentiation of)
