Lateral Ventricle

One of two large, C-shaped cavities in the cerebral hemispheres that produce and circulate cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Key Functions:

• Produces cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) via the choroid plexus.
• Circulates CSF to cushion the brain and spinal cord, and remove waste products.
• Connects to the third ventricle via the interventricular foramen (of Monro).
