Aqueous root+leaf extract — the leaf fraction contributes withaferin A (a cytotoxic withanolide absent from root-only KSM-66). Stress / cortisol endpoints in Ziegenfuss STAR trial (resistance-trained men, 250–500 mg/d) and Auddy 2008 chronic-stress RCT. Higher withanolide concentration per mg extract permits lower dosing than KSM-66 but introduces withaferin A exposure — theoretical concern for long-term use. Distinct pharmacology from KSM-66 (full-spectrum root, no withaferin A spike) and Shoden (root only, withanolide-glycoside enriched).
