Glycowithanolide of the sitoindoside class (IX + X are most-studied). Preclinical immunomodulatory + adaptogenic activity (anti-stress, anti-fatigue). Reported as a marker compound in multiple ashwagandha extract analyses. Like other glycowithanolides, requires gut/hepatic hydrolysis for systemic free-aglycone exposure.
