Odontoblast
Cells located at the periphery of the dental pulp, responsible for forming dentin, the calcified tissue that makes up the bulk of the tooth.
Key Functions:
- Produces and secretes dentin matrix.
- Maintains dentin throughout life.
- Forms odontoblastic processes that extend into dentinal tubules.
