Cells located at the periphery of the dental pulp, responsible for forming dentin, the calcified tissue that makes up the bulk of the tooth.

Key Functions:

  • Produces and secretes dentin matrix.
  • Maintains dentin throughout life.
  • Forms odontoblastic processes that extend into dentinal tubules.
