Endocrine cells located in the anterior pituitary gland, responsible for synthesizing and secreting adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH).

Key Functions:

• Produces and secretes ACTH.
• Stimulates the adrenal cortex to produce cortisol.
• Regulated by corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) from the hypothalamus.
