Eridanus (The River)
Immense constellation pouring from Orion's foot to the southern deeps.
Core Principles & Analysis
It is the fifth-largest constellation, a river of faint stars stretching more than 60 degrees.
It ends at Achernar, one of the ten brightest stars, which spins so fast it is the flattest star known.
The river's source is traditionally Cursa, near Orion's foot, and its mouth falls toward the south celestial pole region.
