Riboflavin-5'-Phosphate

Category: vitamin

Aliases: Riboflavin-5-phosphate, FMN, Flavin mononucleotide, Activated B2

Pharmacological Mechanism

FMN is one of the two active coenzyme forms of riboflavin (FMN, FAD). Directly incorporable into flavoenzymes without the RFK-mediated phosphorylation step required for riboflavin. Theoretical advantage in RFK polymorphisms; clinical advantage over plain riboflavin is small.
