Dimeric disulfide form of pantetheine, the immediate CoA precursor (one step from CoA vs. three from pantothenic acid). Proposed dyslipidemia mechanism is inhibition of HMG-CoA reductase and acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) at the pantetheine stage.
