Flavanone aglycone; as naringin glycoside from grapefruit it is a well-characterised CYP3A4 and OATP1A2/2B1 inhibitor — the 'grapefruit juice effect' on statin and CCB pharmacokinetics. Activates PPARα (lipid oxidation) and inhibits ApoB secretion; LDL reduction in animal models.
