Purine nucleoside — GTP precursor (guanosine kinase → GMP → GDP → GTP). Extracellular guanosine has neuroprotective effects in preclinical models via adenosine-receptor-independent mechanisms (A1/A2A not the primary target). Trophic effect on glial cells.
