Rod Photoreceptor Cell
A type of photoreceptor cell in the retina responsible for vision in low-light conditions (scotopic vision) and detecting motion.
Key Functions:
- Detects dim light and is responsible for night vision.
- Does not detect color.
- Highly sensitive to light, allowing vision in low illumination.
