Reticular Cell
Fibroblast-like cells that produce reticular fibers, forming the structural framework (stroma) of various lymphatic and hematopoietic organs (e.g., spleen, lymph nodes, bone marrow).
Key Functions:
- Forms the reticular network that supports immune cells.
- Provides structural integrity to lymphatic organs.
- Involved in antigen presentation and immune cell trafficking.
Interacting Systems & Components:
- Lymphatic System (provides support to)
- Immune System (supports cells of)
- Collagen (produces type III collagen, reticular fibers)
- Spleen (found in)
