Centroacinar Cell (Pancreas)

Small, flattened epithelial cells that form the beginning of the pancreatic duct system, located within the acini.

Key Functions:

• Forms the initial portion of the pancreatic duct.
• Secretes bicarbonate and water to neutralize stomach acid.
• Modifies the primary secretion of acinar cells.
