Centroacinar Cell (Pancreas)
Small, flattened epithelial cells that form the beginning of the pancreatic duct system, located within the acini.
Key Functions:
- Forms the initial portion of the pancreatic duct.
- Secretes bicarbonate and water to neutralize stomach acid.
- Modifies the primary secretion of acinar cells.
