Cerebral vasodilator — selective PDE1 inhibitor → increased cGMP in cerebral vasculature → vasodilation without systemic hypotension. Also inhibits voltage-dependent Na⁺ channels (mild neuroprotective) and raises cerebral glucose uptake. Eastern European cerebrovascular Rx since 1978.
