Short-chain ester prodrug of testosterone; after IM depot release it is hydrolyzed to free testosterone, the natural AR agonist, which also 5α-reduces to DHT and aromatizes to estradiol. Full androgenic + anabolic spectrum. The short ester gives a rapid rise and short duration vs the longer cypionate/enanthate esters, so it is injected more frequently.
