Pharmacological Mechanism

Prodrug NSAID (sulfoxide) reversibly reduced to the active sulindac sulfide (non-selective COX inhibitor) and irreversibly oxidized to inactive sulfone. The long-lived active sulfide drives efficacy; BID dosing.
