Pharmacological Mechanism

Sodium salt of γ-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) — GABA-B agonist + GHB-receptor agonist. Approved for narcolepsy with cataplexy. Schedule III when prescribed; the parent compound GHB is Schedule I as a date-rape drug.
