Long-acting β2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) — saligenin moiety + long lipophilic tail anchors it in the β2 receptor environment for ~12h dosing. Always combined with inhaled corticosteroid for asthma maintenance (LABA monotherapy carries a mortality signal in asthma). Used in fluticasone+salmeterol (Advair).
