Pharmacological Mechanism
Meglitinide — closes pancreatic β-cell K-ATP channels (same target as sulfonylureas, distinct binding site) → insulin release. Short half-life supports pre-prandial dosing for post-prandial glucose control. Hepatic CYP2C8 + CYP3A4 substrate.
