Pharmacological Mechanism

Active dephosphorylated metabolite of psilocybin (a prodrug, hydrolyzed by alkaline phosphatase to psilocin in vivo). A 5-HT2A receptor agonist — the classical psychedelic mechanism — with additional 5-HT2C and 5-HT1A activity. Risks: HPPD, anxiety / "bad trip," transient blood-pressure and heart-rate elevation; Schedule I.
