Pharmacological Mechanism

Acid-stable orally-absorbed penicillin — inhibits bacterial transpeptidase (PBPs) crosslinking peptidoglycan. Streptococcal coverage for strep pharyngitis, secondary prophylaxis of rheumatic fever, dental prophylaxis (where indicated). Renal-cleared.
