Pharmacological Mechanism

Imidazoline α1A + partial α2 adrenergic agonist — topical vasoconstrictor for nasal congestion. Rebound congestion (rhinitis medicamentosa) develops with use >3 days. Topical formulation also approved for adult facial rosacea erythema (Rhofade).
