Long 7-isoprenoid side chain → much longer plasma t½ (~68 h) than MK-4 (~1 h). Same Gla-protein carboxylation as MK-4 but steadier exposure with once-daily dosing. Produced by gut bacteria and by Bacillus subtilis natto fermentation.
