Alternative splice product of the IGF-1 gene expressed in response to mechanical stretch. The unique E-domain C-terminal 24-aa peptide (often called 'MGF') is proposed to activate satellite cells independently of the IGF-1R. Synthetic 24-mer is what's supplemented. Very short plasma t½ (<10 min) — must be injected locally to matter.
