Pharmacological Mechanism

Prostaglandin F2α analog (FP receptor agonist) — increases uveoscleral aqueous humor outflow → lowers intraocular pressure. First-line topical for open-angle glaucoma. Iris pigmentation darkening + eyelash growth (used off-label for cosmetic eyelashes — bimatoprost is the FDA-approved version).
