Pharmacological Mechanism

Inhaled halogenated ether anesthetic — same broad GABA-A / glycine / K+ channel effects as sevoflurane but slower induction (higher blood-gas solubility) and pungent (limits pediatric mask use). Vasodilator with coronary vasodilation that historically raised "coronary steal" concerns (now considered non-issue).
