Chimeric IgG1 mAb (~75% human Fc / 25% murine Fv) binding soluble and transmembrane TNFα with high affinity; induces reverse signalling and apoptosis of TNF-expressing T cells and macrophages. First anti-TNF approved. Combining with MTX reduces immunogenicity and improves durability.
