Reversible acetylcholinesterase inhibitor (Ki ~25 nM) — raises synaptic ACh. Higher CNS selectivity and longer duration than donepezil. Also NMDA receptor antagonist at higher concentrations (neuroprotective rationale). Used in China for Alzheimer's; Western supplement use for cognitive endpoints.
