Pharmacological Mechanism

Inhaled / intranasal corticosteroid — high topical glucocorticoid receptor potency; near-zero systemic bioavailability after inhalation due to first-pass metabolism. First-line maintenance therapy for asthma + allergic rhinitis. CYP3A4 substrate (ritonavir DDI causes systemic Cushing's).
