Pharmacological Mechanism

Imidazole GABA-A positive allosteric modulator — induction agent of choice in hemodynamically unstable patients (preserves blood pressure better than propofol). Single-dose adrenal suppression via 11β-hydroxylase inhibition; not used for ICU infusion.
