Pharmacological Mechanism

Ultra-short-acting cardioselective β1 blocker — esterase-mediated hydrolysis gives ~9 min half-life. IV-only; titratable for acute hypertensive emergencies, intraoperative tachycardia, AF rate control where rapid offset is needed.
