Pharmacological Mechanism

Sulfated DHEA — the dominant circulating form (DHEA-S:DHEA ratio ~300:1). Long half-life acts as a stable reservoir; tissues desulfate locally via STS to access free DHEA → androstenedione → testosterone / estradiol.
