Native IGF-1 truncated by the first three residues (Gly-Pro-Glu). The deletion reduces IGFBP-3 binding ~10× while preserving IGF-1R affinity — so at equal doses DES IGF-1 delivers more free bioactive peptide. Much shorter systemic t½ than LR3 (~20 min) → local rather than systemic action.
