Pharmacological Mechanism

Inositol stereoisomer — synthesized from myo-inositol by epimerase. Mediator of insulin signaling in muscle and adipose. Used in PCOS in 40:1 myo:DCI ratio mimicking serum levels. Doses too high reduce ovulation (the "DCI paradox").
