Pharmacological Mechanism

Mast cell stabilizer — inhibits degranulation of pulmonary + ocular + gut mast cells. Inhaled for asthma prophylaxis (not rescue), nasal for allergic rhinitis, ophthalmic for allergic conjunctivitis, oral for systemic mastocytosis.
