Pharmacological Mechanism

A corynanthe-type indole alkaloid of yohimbe bark (Pausinystalia johimbe) — the structural class named for the genus Corynanthe (yohimbe’s historical genus). It has a seco (ring-opened) corynanthe skeleton with a vinyl group and a methoxy-acrylate side chain, distinguishing it from the pentacyclic yohimbine. Its pharmacology is not well characterised.
