Pharmacological Mechanism
Selective α2-adrenergic agonist (ophthalmic) — reduces aqueous humor production + increases uveoscleral outflow. Used in open-angle glaucoma + ocular hypertension. Topical rosacea formulation (Mirvaso) uses the same compound for vasoconstrictive erythema reduction.
