Pharmacological Mechanism

Sesquiterpene lactone (C15) unique to Ginkgo biloba; structurally distinct from ginkgolides. Neuroprotective via GABA-A modulation + mitochondrial protection. Often the most abundant terpene lactone in EGb 761.
