A minor indole alkaloid of yohimbe bark (Pausinystalia johimbe) and a stereoisomer of yohimbine differing in configuration at the C-17 carbinol centre. Its own pharmacology is not characterised; by analogy to yohimbine it is presumed to interact with α-adrenoceptors, but this is not established for β-yohimbine specifically.
