Pharmacological Mechanism

Amide local anesthetic with thiophene ring + ester side group → rapid plasma esterase hydrolysis (lower systemic toxicity). Most-used dental local anesthetic in Europe + increasingly North America. Better diffusion through bone for mandibular blocks.
