Flavone with high-affinity CD38 inhibition (stronger than quercetin; Escande 2013) — preserves cellular NAD⁺ by blocking its CD38-driven hydrolysis. Also a GABA-A benzodiazepine-site ligand (anxiolytic/sedative effect basis for chamomile). Weak ER-β activity and aromatase inhibition in vitro.

Interactions
NMN (synergistic): CD38 inhibition preserves NAD⁺ pool; pairing with precursors leverages both arms of NAD⁺ homeostasis.
NAD⁺ (synergistic): CD38 inhibition slows NAD⁺ consumption — preserves pool.
