Long-acting dihydropyridine calcium-channel blocker — preferential vascular smooth-muscle Cav1.2 blockade with minimal cardiac effect. Lowers blood pressure via peripheral vasodilation. CYP3A4 substrate; weak inhibitor at higher doses. Pedal edema dose-related.
