Soluble decoy receptor: extracellular domain of activin receptor IIB fused to human IgG1 Fc. Binds and sequesters myostatin (GDF-8), activin, and related TGF-β family ligands — removes the negative-regulatory brake on muscle mass. Clinical development suspended after Phase 2 showed epistaxis + gum bleeding (activin IIB signalling is important for vascular integrity). Related programs (bimagrumab, garetosmab) use mAb approach.
